Virtual Congressional Briefing: Resilience for the Nation’s Oceans, Coasts, and Great Lakes Part 2

CSO, the Integrated Ocean Observing System Association, the National Estuarine Research Reserve Association, the National Marine Sanctuaries Foundation, and the Sea Grant Association held a virtual two-briefing series on Coastal Resilience. This second briefing in the series hosted panelist from tribal and local governments which work collaboratively with NOAA and its non-federal partners to comprehensively advance resilience of their coastal communities through data and science, planning and management, education and outreach, and protection of lands and waters. Virtual Congressional Briefing: Resilience for the Nation’s Oceans, Coasts, and Great Lakes Part 1

CSO, the Integrated Ocean Observing System Association, the National Estuarine Research Reserve Association, the National Marine Sanctuaries Foundation, and the Sea Grant Association held a virtual two-briefing series on Coastal Resilience. This first briefing in the series hosted a panel of experts from Hawaii Sea Grant, the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Florida, and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, Coastal Program to discuss the collaborative efforts in their states to provide tailored data and science, planning and management resources, education and outreach, and coastal protection to support coastal community resilience. 2020 National Coastal and Estuarine Summit

The 2020 National Coastal and Estuarine Summit  was held virtually September 29 – October 1, 2020. More than 1,400 people gathered for the three-day event from across the world to hear from experts in the field of blue carbon, coastal restoration, shoreline management, and representatives from federal, state, and municipal governments and regulatory agencies. The 2020 Summit focused on the need to improve our collective focus on diversity and inclusion in decision making and implementation of restoration goals and activities. Previous Member Meetings

The CSO Members have two full membership meetings annually. One meeting is in a region in the fall and the other is in D.C. in the late winter.
