Since 1970, the Coastal States Organization (CSO) has represented the interests of the Governors from the thirty-five coastal States, Commonwealths and Territories bordering the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, the Gulf of Mexico and the Great Lakes on federal, legislative, administrative and policy issues relating to sound coastal, Great Lakes, and ocean management.
Mission
To support the shared vision of the coastal states, commonwealths and territories for the protection, conservation, responsible use and sustainable economic development of the nation’s coastal and ocean resources.
